French oakwood extract
Roburins are found exclusively in oak wood and have been shown to be very beneficial for humans.
What is French oak wood?
Oak trees are known for their strength and longevity, often living for centuries. Their resilience comes partly from their production of protective compounds called roburins (a group of ellagitannins). These tannins are found only in oak trees, and they have been studied for their interaction with human cells.
Each cell in our body contains millions of ribosomes, which are small structures in cells that create proteins and are essential for the function of tissues, organs, and the whole body. Extract from French oak wood (Quercus robur) is shown to improve the functioning of our cellular ribosomes.
By supporting this fundamental cellular activity, French oak wood can help promote energy at the cellular level, particularly in individuals experiencing fatigue or low energy.

This practice was originally adopted because of the preservative effects of fresh oak on new wines and spirits, but it has continued because of the unique flavour and character the oak provides to the ageing liquor.
